10 Hugely Anticipated Albums That Will Dominate 2017
2. AFI - Burials
A lot of people associate rock band AFI with their 2006 aesthetic (that is, Davey Havok with an improbably huge "emo fringe"). Though they've long since dropped the look, they've continued to explore similarly complex emotional themes. 2013's Burials, for example, was described by Havok as a record of silence, concerned with feelings of betrayal, cruelty, weakness and anxiety.
AFI's latest record titled AFI (The Blood Album) is set to drop in 2017, and the several songs released so far suggest the band is back on top form with a series of moody, atmospheric rock tunes.
The record has been teased with a series of grainy, noisy tracks named after the different blood types, full of whispered vocals and reversed sound clips. It's eerie stuff, and suggests the record will similarly attempt to unnerve the listener.
