10 Iconic Albums You Won't Believe Are Turning 20 Years Old

7. The All-American Rejects - The All-American Rejects

While it was re-released in 2003, AAR's debut was released in October 2002!

The All-American Rejects' first album introduced us to the unique vocal stylings of Tyson Ritter and hit single Swing, Swing, putting AAR firmly on the rock map.

While Move Along was undoubtedly the better album, the band's self-titled debut got favourable reviews and was listed on Rock Sound's 51 Most Essential Pop-Punk Albums of All Time list but was more of a signal of potential for things to come rather than the finished article.

Released via independent label Doghouse Records, the album saw Swing Swing, The Last Song and Time Stands Still released as singles. However, the latter received no commercial success, while The Last Song struggled to live up to the success of Swing, Swing.

The album was re-released on 4 February 2003 via DreamWorks Records and made it to number 49 on Rock Sound's 51 Most Essential Pop Punk Albums of All Time list.

The All-American Rejects' debut album turns 20 years old, officially, on 15 October.
