10 Incredible 2000s Bands That Are Still Killing It
4. Trivium
Trivium may have a reputation for following up brilliant albums with ones that suck - but when they’re good they’re excellent and they’re on the form of their lives right now.
Coming off the back of one of their best records yet, The Sin and the Sentence, Trivium are gearing up to release their 9th record. The band shot into fame in 2005 following the release of their album Ascendancy and the sheer brilliance of songs like Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr and A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation. Trivium combined the choruses of Metalcore with the chugging nature of Thrash and the complexity of progressive metal to become one of rock’s very best bands.
In the 2000s, Trivium were kings of the New Wave of Heavy Metal alongside bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage. They injected modernity into the genre and have gone on to inspire yet another wave of metal as well as remain at the forefront of it. The band keep their fingers on the pulse and are always on the lookout for young bands to push up; they're total gents and are on the way to becoming bonafide legends.
