10 Incredible Classic Rock Albums We Never Got To Hear
2. Get Back - The Beatles
By the end of 1968, the Beatles were not having the healthiest of band relationships. Though their self-titled White Album was a practical gold mine of great material, the band's disparate musical influences caused them to grow apart, with Ringo Starr even quitting halfway through the sessions.
Once they got back together, Paul McCartney proposed using the next record as an opportunity to get the band back to their roots. The sessions initially started pretty well, with songs like "Get Back" and "Don't Let Me Down" being fantastic breakout singles. However, the band were never able to get on the same page and eventually folded the record, deciding to work on Abbey Road instead. Though it was eventually released in 1970 as Let It Be, many Fab fans have wondered how this new sound could have been made if the Beatles took proper care of it.
The band initially had ideas to re-record some of their older material along with some covers from their early days, which could have given them a greater outlook on the material of their youth. Though Let It Be does serve its purpose as the band's swansong, it could have been far greater if the band got back to where they once belonged.
