10 Incredible Musical Side Projects

6. Slash (2010)

Along with being in Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver, Slash had built up a track record for being one of the most in-demand session guitarists. From artists as diverse as Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, and Carole King, it seemed like every rocker was chasing the smooth emotional guitar tone that Slash had crafted.

In 2010, Slash decided to reverse the process by letting the singers come to him on his record. Slash would write the music and each respective singer would go about putting the lyric and melody to the song.

This made for one of the more interesting records of the 2010's. While each singer has a vastly different presence, Slash's tasty licks helps draw a straight line through each track.

Many rock veterans step up to the plate on this one such as Ozzy, Lemmy, and Chris Cornell, but other unusual choices like Fergie and Adam Levine hold their own as they put their unique spin on Slash's music.

The highlight of the album is Myles Kennedy's contribution, which impressed Slash so much that he eventually enlisted Kennedy to accompany him and his solo act on tour.

An eclectic mix of tracks with the heart of rock and roll.
