10 Incredible New Pioneers Of Old-School Metal

7. Comedy Metal - Raised By Owls

Despite only having one EP to their name, inescapably English black metallers Raised By Owls have already proved themselves to be just as rip-roaringly hilarious as comedy rock titans like Steel Panther and Lawnmower Deth.

After all, their debut EP The Great British Grind Off (2016) features such ingenious song titles as "Ainsley Harriott Advises You to Give Your Meat a Gold Ol' Rub", "Ross Kemp on Gang Bangs", "David Cameron's Favourite Band Is Pig Destroyer", "Harry Potter and the Curse of the Student Loan", "The Art of Queuing" and far, far more.

An intense, black metal parody of all things stereotypically English, this band goes above and beyond the archetypal comedy rock parameters by crafting music that, should the humour be taken away, would still work extortionately well. The Great British Grind Off is packed with ferocity and heavy riffage, as well as a plethora of ingeniously irreverent, laugh-out-loud moments. It's also currently available to download in its entirety for absolutely free on Raised By Owl's Bandcamp page.

So, you know... do that. Now.
