6. Talk Tonight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ycaocta_OCw Having been written after one of Noel's many walkouts during an American tour in 1994, 'Talk Tonight''s tender vulnerability quickly became legendary amongst fans, who still value it as one of the band's greatest moments. Having been 'talked off a ledge' by a girl he met on the tour after he quit the band, she took Noel to a park where she used to play as a child, and these reflective moments transfer perfectly into the song's insistence, "I wanna talk tonight, until the morning light, about how you saved my life". Another song to be included on B-sides compilation 'The Masterplan', it also ended up on 2006's best of release 'Stop the Clocks', and gets aired regularly during Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' tours, but that still doesn't stop it from being an underrated, underused masterpiece of a song. Comprising just an acoustic guitar, organ and a few handclaps, Noel's expressive voice is allowed the space to fully dominate for four and a half minutes, helping to pave the way for a long line of classic Gallagher songwriting.
