10 Key Elements To The Paul McCartney Is Dead Theory
2. The Infamous Scar
One of the biggest clues to the "Paul is dead" theory is a scar that hovers just above McCartney's top lip. McCartney acquired the injury after falling off his moped while visiting family in Liverpool. The accident was so bad that he also chipped some of his teeth.
As a result, McCartney decided to grow a mustache to hide his scar. Unfortunately for Macca, his mustache didn't grow quickly enough. This meant that Beatles fans were treated to an unusual looking Paul McCartney in the "Paperback Writer" video. For many, this was definite proof that Macca had been replaced with a lookalike. It was then suggested that the lookalike (probably William Campbell Shears) had undergone surgery to look more like the Beatle bass player, hence the scar and mangled gnashers.
Even more suspiciously, McCartney's friend, Guinness heir Tara Browne, was said to have been with him on the night of the crash. The same Tara Browne who died in a car crash not long after and the same Tara Browne who was mentioned in the lyrics to "A Day In The Life."
