I didn't realise at the time how sinister it is". He just woke up in the middle of the night and the lyrics came to him, which really makes you wonder about Sting's mind generally. Sure, "Every breath you take, every move you make...I'll be watching you" is scary enough on its own. But add in "Oh can't you see, you belong to me" and you're left with a full on Silence Of The Lambs vibe, with a little Misery thrown in for good measure.
