10 Major Albums Where Everything Went Wrong
3. Encore - Eminem
It always sucks when an artist has to deal with people pirating their material. Since you always want to ensure that you're putting your best foot forward when making a record, who the hell wants to deal with some hacker who decides to leak some of your best tracks online just for the hell of it? Most artists can roll with the punches, or if you're Eminem, take one of the biggest Ls of your career with Encore.
Coming off of the more bombastic the Eminem Show, this felt like it was going to be the part 2 that most of us were waiting for, which all turned to sh*t once we heard the finished product. Though some of the leaked tracks like Bully seemed to be fairly captivating in their original form, Marshall decided to get his "payback" by writing an entirely different bunch of tracks, most of which wouldn't have even made it past the first draft stage on any other Eminem album.
Instead of the usual intimidation and occasional dark humor we would get on earlier albums, we have songs like Just Lose It and Ass Like That, each of which show Eminem in his worst light and trying way too hard to shock people. While Marshall would eventually duck out of the spotlight for nearly half a decade after this album to focus on himself, it might have also been just to hide out of pure shame.
