10 Massively Underrated Albums From The 2000s
4. The Bronx - The Bronx (II) (2006)
The Bronx are one of hardcore’s most reliable bands. They always release brilliant records, play live wire shows and bring a smile to the faces of their fans. Their gigs are utter chaos, with frontman Matt Caughthran getting right into the crowd, big old mosh pits and hardcore songs with massive vocal lines and choruses. They’re just one of the best bands making music right now even though they’re largely unknown outside of hardcore and metal crowds.
They could have all the success in the world but not even that would be enough for what this band deserves. The Bronx (II) is one of the best rock albums of the 00s, full of wall to wall bangers, singalong anthems, so much heart and energy. Whether it’s the rapid circle pit rager of Small Stone, hardcore classics such as History’s Stranglers and Shitty Future or the almost hardcore ballad in White Guilt, the band proved with this album that they were able to take the genre to new heights.
The Bronx (II) is the kind of album that everyone from fans of Foo Fighters to Black Flag should be able to enjoy, they've just gotta listen.
