10 Memorable Rock Bands Who Only Released ONE Album

7. The La's, The La's (1990)

Late '80s/ early '90s English rock band The La's are considered by many to have inspired the Britpop craze that would dominate radio waves throughout the decade on the shores of the UK. Certainly, for an act who were only really writing and performing music for half a decade, they had an impressive reach.

In spite of their redundant apostrophe, the band shot to fame and popularity, from the Liverpool underground scene to appearances on Top Of The Pops within a few short years, before putting out a gold-plated piece of music history.

There is unlikely to be a person alive who doesn't know the heroin hit 'There She Goes', the cornerstone track of their self-titled debut album, which received widespread critical acclaim on release and bestowed on the band a reputation as respected popular songsmiths that persists to this day.

It may be shocking then to learn that The La's (1990) is the band's only record to date. The group have reformed and toured several times over the three decades since this album hit our stereos, and though rumours abound about an elusive second studio album, each revival has failed to deliver.
