10 Metal Bands Who Made 5 Great Albums In A Row
9. Sepultura
Sepultura may be a mere shadow of the band they used to be but during their golden period, the band beat all odds by simply being one of the very best heavy metal bands around. It really is that easy, eh?
1987's Schizophrenia marks the start of the band's great five-album run and the record is a ripping, insidious foray into thrash music. A tormenting tornado of evil, Schizophrenia was Sepultura’s entrance into the big leagues and allowed them to make 1989's classic Beneath the Remains. With the legendary Roadrunner Records behind them, Sepultura were able to make this furious, yet honest record and their subsequent excellent efforts.
Next came 1991's Arise, which pushed the band out further into more hardcore territories, meanwhile they adopted a tribal sound that came to define them. It’s Sepultura’s most important album, taking the band to levels of uncontrollable adoration from fans, leading on to 1993's Chaos A.D. which was the first Roadrunner Record release to enter into the Billboard Top 40 chart. An album that will forever be pitted against 1996's Roots as their very best, we’ll have to agree that they’re both groundbreaking, vital and perfect heavy metal records.
