10 Metal Cover Songs That Sound Nothing Like The Original

3. Kim - Lingua Ignota

When it comes to the heavier side of music, only the brave should be willing to take on something like Lingua Ignota. Across albums like Caligula, you're not exactly in for a pleasant experience, as we hear Kristin Hayter unleashing parts of her soul back at her abuser, leaving very little to the imagination. So why not take the woman responsible for laying her anger down and have her take on one of the most disturbing tales of domestic abuse ever conceived.?

Granted, it's not like Lingua didn't have some impressive shoes to fill, given how Eminem's original version of Kim is enough to send shivers up and down your spine on a normal day. Even though it would have been hard to compete with something like that, she might even manage to top Slim Shady himself in terms of raw darkness, as she coats her vocal performance to the brim with raw dread, which was harder to stomach when Em's version was sandwiched between the more comedic bits on the Marshall Mathers LP.

While metal music has been known to go to some dark places in its day, this is like walking into a scene from Hell with absolutely no way out. It may be dark, but just make sure you have a failsafe plan if you want to take on listening to this in full.
