There seems to be more and more of a fascination with pop punk going on as of late. Then again, if so many people were on the bandwagon for this kind of tuneful rock music, why the hell did we let it sink like a stone and have acts like Simple Plan as our flagbearers? Well, maybe it was because we didn't have someone with as much concentrated kickass as Otoboke Beaver.

Hell, it almost feels like cheating even calling this a pop punk act, given that the guitars and manic vocals from each of these ladies are pushed to the absolute brink every time they sing. This is just the standard punk stuff we are used to, only pushed even further than many would imagine. There are even some punk stalwarts like the Clash who would be telling these gals to tone it down a bit.

Granted, it's not like this even comes close to being a problem either. If anything, the intensity is their biggest asset, with each song sounding like it's on the verge of collapsing at any moment before giving way to something even more mindblowing around the corner. If this is a sign that a new punk explosion is on the horizon, then this next wave is going to make for some of the most caustic pop punk yet.
