Compared to the rest of the people on this list, this singer songwriter has been making quite the impression on TikTok, with Coffee showcasing literally any cutesy video that goes up. That's all hype though...the real stuff came in with Fake It Flowers.
Based on what you hear on various social media platform, this latest record from Beabadoobee is probably one of the best rock albums of the decade thusfar, bringing back the bad ass rocker girl persona in spades. The difference between this and her TikToks are virtually night and day, trading in her trademark ukulele for a crunchy guitar and songs that sound like what someone like Liz Phair would be making these days if she didn't embarrass herself in the back half of the '00s.
Above all else, this album is an encouraging sign of what rock could be doing in the future. Up until this point, the new sounds of rock have been coming from female voices like St. Vincent and Halestorm, so it's not a bad idea to have a female voice of rock for this next generation. Who knows? This might be a flash in the pan, but we could also be looking at the next resurgence of riot grrrl.
