10 Modern Rock Music Artists With A Throwback Sound
7. Revival Black
If asked what decade from the past they would want to live in, there would surely be a large number of people who would say the 80s.
That's the 1980s, by the way, not the 1480s. Although, if that's your vibe, then no judgement. You do you.
The era of spandex, hairspray, and Margaret Thatcher has lots of appealing traits, especially if you're a fan of loud, stadium-oriented rock.
One band on a mission to bring this style of music back to the mainstream is Revival Black.
Also based out of Liverpool, although definitely not styling themselves after The Beatles, Revival Black label their music as "honest rock 'n' roll" and claim to be a part of the New Wave of Classic Rock.
There's plenty of evidence to back this up, as they've recorded a number of songs that wouldn't have sounded out of place fifty or so years ago.
With songs centred around huge, PA-busting riffs, the group have set themselves firmly in the mould of Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses. There's also a lot of Slash in lead guitarist Alan Rimmer, which definitely helps their cause.
