6. Spectre - Radiohead
For the 2015 James Bond movie, Spectre, singer Sam Smith was drafted in to perform the song Writing's on the Wall.
It did well, becoming the first Bond theme to top the UK charts, but the movie's producers actually had the chance to use a different song by one of the most iconic British bands of all time.
Director Sam Mendes and Bond actor Daniel Craig were both big fans of Radiohead, so got the band to record a track called Spectre for the film. Unfortunately, the producers thought it was too sad, so opted for Smith's track instead.
Too sad? Had they even heard of Radiohead?
Not ones to let a good tune go to waste, the band dropped Spectre anyway on Christmas Day 2015. It was released on Soundcloud to much fanfare, with some critics labelling it a better choice than Writing's on the Wall.
Though it did end up on the special edition of 2016's A Moon Shaped Pool, Spectre was never included on a regular Radiohead album, nor a Bond soundtrack album, for that matter.
Still, considering how awful the film Spectre ended up being, perhaps Thom Yorke and friends dodged a bullet.
