1. Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast & Piece Of Mind
When it comes to rock bands changing singer, there are few bigger and more important examples than when Bruce Dickinson replaced Paul Di'Anno in Iron Maiden.
Di'Anno had his charms and was a fine vocalists, but come on, he was no Brucey.

Maiden's defining album transformed these British blokes into metal deities. Dickinson's trademark wailing brought new life to the band and created several iconic songs in the process.
Invigorated by this success, Maiden put out Piece of Mind one year later in 1983. Though not as iconic as Number of the Beast, this album is still brimming with monster tracks, including Flight of Icarus and The Trooper.
In the space of just two years, the Bruce Dickinson version of Iron Maiden had taken over the rock world with a grip that would never be broken. This must have been such an exciting period of time to be following the band.
