Pink Floyd are one of those bands that have a special place in the hearts of many rock fans; fans who are usually old enough to have a disposable income big enough to buy expensive vinyl.

Their fourth album, Ummagumma, was released in 1969 and was split into two distinct discs; one was a live album featuring nearly 40 minutes of concert performances, whilst the other was entirely new material recorded in a studio.

If you're after a copy of this album with a price tag that will make your eyes bulge out of your skull, then you'll need to take a trip back to Japan.

A Japanese print of Ummagumma, made in 1970 and identifiable by its distinctive red and white labels, will fetch, and get ready for this, a truly astronomical figure of $13,093.04.

You could buy a used car for that. Not one that would get you very far or keep you alive for very long, but still!

The vinyl market is so deep and varied that something as simple as the country of origin can have a profound effect on an item's value.
