10 More Hard Rock Vinyl Albums That Are Worth A Lot Of Money

9. Storm Of The Light’s Bane - Dissection

Velvet Underground
Nuclear Blast

With a name as delightful as they have, Dissection could only be an extreme metal band, rather predictably hailing from Sweden, where extreme metal is played to children in the womb.

The band released two albums in the 1990s, The Somberlain and Storm of the Light's Bane, before going on hiatus. Why did they go on hiatus? Because chief songwriter Jon Nödtveidt was found guilty of being an accessory to murder in 1997.

Yep, that'll do it.

Perhaps as a result of their notoriety, Dissection's music often goes for a pretty penny, with one version of Storm of the Light's Bane being particularly valuable.

The German release of the album, which was issued on the Nuclear Blast label in 1995, is valued at an average price of $588.81. This version contains all eight songs and comes complete with gatefold sleeve and lyrics, so you can actually understand what these angry Swedes are yelling about.

To those in the know, Dissection were a pivotal part of the subgenre's development and come loaded with one hell of a history. If you're comfortable with listening to the music of a guy who helped kill someone, then knock yourself out.
