10 More Hard Rock Vinyl Albums That Are Worth A Lot Of Money

8. This Desert Life - Counting Crows

Velvet Underground
Geffen

Formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1991, Counting Crows are either famous for their version of Big Yellow Taxi or the song Accidentally in Love from Shrek 2.

Either one is valid.

Sadly, neither of those songs are on the group's third album, This Desert Life, which came out in late 1999. It did alright, cracking the top ten in the band's native US and the top 20 over in the UK, racking up some decent critical reviews along the way.

The vinyl release of This Desert Life contains two discs, one of which features two hidden tracks, Kid Things and Baby I'm a Big Star Now. The original US version of the album goes for an average of $678.59 on Discogs, but the site features a record sale of $1207.10 for a copy.

The most recent sale according to the site was January 2024, so people are still clearly interested in paying big money to own this album. Vinyls were on the way out towards the end of the 90s, so maybe that's why people are so keen to get their hands on a "proper" cut of this great collection of songs.
