9. Empire Warning
In a scene fuelled by innovation and experimentation, sometimes it's the bare-boned, raw metal style that catches our attention. This is certainly the case with London based heavy groove metal outfit, Empire Warning, who hit with wave after wave of brutality in every single song.
Empire Warning initially released their first material back in 2013, but saw momentum stagnate to an extent due to several member changes. But, the band refused to cave in and persevered, eventually re-emerging with an new line-up and refreshed style.
After a six year absence of new material, Empire Warning released the single 'Verge of Insanity' in 2019 to great fan reception.
Clear inspiration from bands such as Slipknot and Lamb of God can be heard in all their material, but these influences are particularly notable in the band's latest release, 2020's EP 'Unite & Die' which is now available on all conventional streaming services.
