10 Most Anticipated Rock And Metal Albums Of 2017
4. Marilyn Manson
He might not be the terrifying Antichrist Superstar you remember from the turn of the millennium, but Marilyn Manson is still something of an enigma in today’s rock scene. Yeah, the days of your mum running away scared from a man in eyeliner are long gone, but he’s still The God Of F*ck and each of his albums still comes with an air of excitement and anticipation - especially now, following 2015’s grand return to form The Pale Emperor. Prior to this, Manson had been floundering and resting on his (admittedly impressive) greatest hits, but now it feels like the Double M has found his calling once again.
Titled Say10 (get it?), it’s currently scheduled for release on Valentine’s Day although there are reports that this might not be true. But what we do know, is that we don’t want Mazza to slow down. The intensity and sophistication of The Pale Emperor, coupled with its artistic sheen, made it one of the top releases of that year, and if Manson’s recent live shows are anything to go by, he can turn up the hate when he needs to. Like System Of A Down, he isn’t shy to voice his opinions on the world, and we can only imagine what the twisted mind that brought us Lunchbox has to say later this year.
