10 Most Controversial Hard Rock Songs Of All Time
9. Night Prowler - AC/DC
AC/DC is the trademark definition of a great rock and roll band. Whereas most bands pride themselves on being rock filtered through goth or punk, these guys just plugged into their amplifiers and gave the world some of the greatest headbangers of all time. Most of their songs end up being innocent fun, but one song ended up haunting them later in life.
Closing out their phenomenal Highway to Hell album, “Night Prowler” is a darker slow jam about sex, but other listeners took it as something a little more than carnal knowledge. During the mid ‘80s, horror broke out in America over a serial killer going by the name of the Night Stalker, who killed and raped 15 people in Los Angeles. No one thought anything of it at first, but things started to escalate when an AC/DC hat was found at one of the crime scenes. Once the Night Stalker was eventually captured, he had claimed to have been a fan of the band.
Even though the band has denied it for years, many people are still trying to find any connection between this serial killer and the similar song title the band used. AC/DC’s music might lend itself to a bit of mischief, but no one knew that it would end up getting this dark.
