10 Most Disturbing Hard Rock Songs Ever Released

4. Sick Sick Sick - Queens of the Stone Age

Queens of the Stone Age has always been considered a bit left of center. Rising to prominence as one of the leading groups in stoner rock, the band's music always has a bit of strangeness, almost as if everything wasn't exactly in its right place. It might be a bit weird for what it is, but "Sick Sick Sick" unleashes was something much more sinister in the band's arsenal.

Structured around just one chord, the song shows Josh Homme at his most grotesque, as if he's determined to sink to the deepest lows he can possibly get. As the tune opens up, the driving riff of the song is one part blues boogie and one part horrorshow soundtrack at the exact same time. The feel of the track is already uneasy, but the real terror comes in how Homme delivers his lines.

This is not a man succumbing to the horrors around him, but has decided to embrace them and finds it almost sexually liberating to revel in the darkness. By the time the breakdown comes in and we hear his chant of "Forever midnight...," there's no real hope for return, as Homme has fully committed to his...well...sickness. He may want to change, but given he's this far gone, why bother when the sinners are more fun?
