10 Most Disturbing Hard Rock Songs Ever Released

3. Daddy - Korn

After grunge had faded from view, Korn were the shot in the arm that the metal world needed to get back on its feet. Though not too many metal bands were thriving in the age of flannel, Korn's blend of strange rhythms and detuned guitars made for songs that were a lot more menacing than any of their counterparts. The lyrics from Jonathan Davis were already disturbing, but what really chills you to the bone is when things start getting real.

Coming at the tail end of the band's debut, "Daddy" is one of the most disturbing songs of the decade, as Davis pours his heart out about the abuse he had undergone as a kid. After being sexually abused as a child, Davis told his parents of the trauma he underwent, only to have them not believe him. With no holds barred, this song is Davis laying everything on the table, with him sounding like he's on the verge of a mental breakdown with each passing line.

The actual recording of the song ended up being so emotional that the band eventually had to comfort Davis shortly afterwards to make sure he didn't go too far into his dark memories. Nu metal might get laughed at for its sophomoric humor and frat-bro attitude, but I defy you to listen to this song and not feel at least a little uneasy.
