7. Bloodbath - Eaten
Who In The Hell?:
Bloodbath are a Swedish death metal supergroup made up of members of Katatonia, Opeth, and Paradise Lost. However, "Eaten"'s lead vocals and lyrics were supplied by former members Peter Tägtgren's and Dan Swanö respectively. The band are still performing with new members.
Sinister Sounds:
The guitars and drums combine to give a pretty steady head-banging beat. In terms of the genre's norms, Tägtgren's vocals are clear and crisp. The sounds that come from his strained throat could belong to any movie slasher that has their own cinematic franchise.
Publishable Lyrics:
"I've had one desire since I was born / To see my body ripped and torn / To see my flesh devoured before my eyes / Only for you, I volunteer as a human sacrifice."
Censored Storyline:
Tägtgren growls his way through Swanö's lyrics, detailing his "one desire" and "only wish" is to be cannibalised while still alive. He gives very specific instructions for the necessary order, required utensils, and provides serving suggestions. In addition, he also offers up his daughter as an appetiser. Thankfully neither man has a daughter to offer up for any form of sacrifice.
