10 Most Emotional Rock Albums Ever Made

7. A Moon Shaped Pool - Radiohead

You could make the argument that almost every Radiohead album has been a heavy emotional experience for everyone involved. Even if you don't know what Thom Yorke is talking about half the time, his delicate falsetto on some of the band's greatest songs is enough to make you tear up just a little bit. If the previous albums were just looking at problems with society, just imagine what happens when they actually have a reason to be upset.

Towards the beginning of the sessions for a Moon Shaped Pool, Thom amicably split from his wife, only for her to tragically pass away just a few months later. From the looks of the album track list, you can tell that Thom was a little too raw to be writing songs, with some of these tracks dating back to the Kid A sessions and have already been known as great live tracks.

When they go for the heart though, there are some really heavy new songs in the mix, like on Daydreaming where you're caught in a dream that's slowly starting to turn into a nightmare. And while True Love Waits had been a Radiohead classic for years, hearing Thom sing the line "Just Don't Leave" hits you that much harder when you know the kind of place he's in. Even though most of this record is a slowburn, it still has a greater emotional punch than any wall of guitars could bring.
