10 Most Expensive Rock Music Videos Of All Time

5. Love Is Strong - The Rolling Stones ($1,000,000)

Before he was one of Hollywood's most acclaimed and respected film directors, David Fincher also directed some very big music videos.

The man behind The Social Network famously put together Madonna's video for Express Yourself, which had a budget of $5 million. Six year's later, he took an 80% pay cut to direct one of the biggest bands of all time.

In the same year as his movie Se7en came out, Fincher was tasked with directing the video for The Rolling Stones' song Love is Strong from the album Voodoo Lounge.

The cool million he got to do his work was used to grow the band members and several extras to the size of skyscrapers. These giant versions of Jagger and friends frolicked around a black and white New York City, hopefully without squashing anyone beneath them.

With such a big name behind it, it's no surprise that the video earned the band a Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video in 1995. It also got played to death on MTV.

Unfortunately, the single didn't sell as well as expected, leaving the band in quite a pickle. Hopefully David didn't have to pay back all that money.
