10 Most Hated Albums In Rock Music History

3. Human Clay - Creed

Some of the worst bands are sometimes a little hard to notice in real time. It usually takes a few years for most people to collectively wake up and realize that something that they thought was cool at one point was a lot more cringy later. And as for Creed, we really should have noticed it a lot sooner before Human Clay became their magnum opus.

This wasn't just some little independent release either. No, this thing has gone Diamond from its sales at this point, all from songs that sound like Scott Stapp was actively trying to mimic Eddie Vedder as much as possible. It's not like the album is all bad though, with the musicians behind Stapp having some pretty tasty licks, like Mark Tremonti's little riffs sprinkled into songs like Higher.

When you look at stuff that people really remember though, it just gets to be funny after a while. I'm sure that a song like With Arms Wide Open was coming from a genuine place for Scott, but hearing the overwrought singing combined with one of the cheesiest videos that the '90s have ever spat out has not lost its comedic factor over the years. You can't say that this wasn't successful though, and actively influential as well. After Creed it big, it was time for yarly rock to reign supreme. Thanks for that.
