10 Most Hated Hard Rock Songs (From Great Bands)

5. What Baby Wants - Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper has been one of the more consistent artists to come from the golden age of hard rock. While not everything he has touched has been golden, he has been able to recontextualize his brand of shock rock across many different generations over the years. While fans may have been psyched for Cooper's 2011 sequel to his classic Welcome to My Nightmare, this album was a bit rough around the edges.

Though the initial singles like "I'll Bite Your Face Off" had a decent enough groove to it, who was asking for the electronic stylings of "What Baby Wants?" It's not like Cooper hasn't done more outlandish experiments before, but this kind of track seemed to take every wrong step from the very beginning. The static backing track certainly feels grating, but probably not in the menacing way that Cooper intended.

This song feels a bit awkward for its inclusion of Ke$ha, whose vocals make for a really questionable blend with Cooper's well-worn vocal delivery. While Kesha eventually earned her rock stripes on her later albums, this old look as the trashy pop princess looks so awkward next to the king of rock and roll horror. Welcome 2 My Nightmare might not have been a terrible followup to his 1970's masterpiece, but this song was definitely a bitter pill to swallow.
