10 Most Infamous People In Rock Music History
7. Nikki Sixx - Motley Crue
There could easily be an entire list of notorious rock and roll moments made up of what Motley Crue went through in the mid ‘80s alone. Anyone who’s even taken one look through their controversial biography The Dirt probably has read through more sex, drugs, and rock and roll than most people need in their lifetime. Everyone had their taste for the darker side of life, but Nikki Sixx may be the only one who can tell us what the other side was like.
Outside of his partying, Nikki was already a bit of a sinister figure looking at his lyrics, where he talks about the seedy side of Los Angeles involving death and organized crime. When you found him backstage though, he became more and more dependent on heroin, which ended up killing him in 1985. Just before the Crue were to embark on another tour, Nikki OD’d and had his heart stop for a few minutes, forcing the paramedics to go full on Pulp Fiction by sticking two adrenaline needles into his chest.
That wasn’t enough to scare him straight either though, checking himself out of the hospital after being brought back to life and going right back to his apartment to stuff some more junk in his veins. The odds were not in Nikki’s favor to see this side of life, but in the past few years, he has seemed to be on the road to recovery and doing his best to stay on the straight and narrow.
