10 Most Infamous Tracks In Rock N Roll

9. You Know You're Right - Nirvana

Given its fantastic instrumentation and impassioned vocal performance from Kurt Cobain, "You Know You're Right" was a song that certainly deserved a better release than it did. Instead of being a great one-off remnant of Cobain's memory, this was known as the long lost Nirvana song that got dragged through the courts.

When combing through the group's back catalog in the early 2000's, surviving bandmates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic wanted to include the song on a Nirvana box set for the fans to have. Quickly realizing the hit potential of the track, Cobain's widow Courtney Love quickly intervened and demanded it be released as a single rather than being "wasted" on a box set. While the band stuck to their guns, the disagreements over the song's placement ended up in the courts where the two parties reached a settlement of having it released on a greatest hits package.

Before any of that could transpire though, various bootleg copies of the song were leaked on the Internet, which ultimately led the marketing team to scramble to rush-release it as a single for radio. Though it didn't have a pleasant promotional cycle, the song should be remembered as one last glimpse at greatness of the kings of alt-rock.
