10 Most Legendary Horrible Gigs In Rock Music History

7. Queens of the Stone Age At Rock Am Ring

You ever have one of those off days when you're at your day job? You may still be trying to do your best to make everything right, but no matter what you try everything ends up going sideways for one reason or another? Well, it's not like rock stars are immune to those kind of days either, and that day fell on what was supposed to what of the biggest gigs for Queens of the Stone Age.

When the band first turned up to play Rock Am Ring, they were already riding high off the success of their latest album Rated R and were looking to wow the crowd with their stoner rock tunes. While the actual musicianship of the show was fine, every single finer detail seemed to be completely ignored when they set up to play, from smoke machines going off at the wrong time to some of the band members missing their cue and having to play under some of the worst conditions imaginable.

It's worth it just to watch the entire video of the performance, as Josh Homme continues to put on a brave face as every single thing seems to go wrong, from stands falling over to Mark Lanegan trying to sing when his mic isn't even turned on. Even though most bands would try to put a gig like this behind them, every member of this era of Queens actually got a tattoo commemorating this day, serving as a reminder to always try to do better than your worst gig.
