2. Hit 'em Up - 2pac featuring Outlaws
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hZR1Ye6xg0 Grab your Glocks when you see 2pac! Call the cops when you see 2pac! Who shot me but your punks didn't finish Now you bout to feel the wrath of a menace! N***a we hit em up! Back in the 1990s there was a war between East and West coast rappers. The main protagonists were 2pac and Death Row Records on the West Coast and Notorious BIG and Bad Boy Records on the East coast. There were a lot of diss records between the two crews. 2pac got shot and blamed it on the East coast. He recovered to make this record which is possibly the most hate filled song in Hip Hop with repeated threats to kill Bad Boy crew members and Biggie himself. The song starts off with a proclamation from Tupac: So I f**ked your b***h you fat motherf**ker! 2pac lays into Biggie, P Diddy (hooray!), Lil Kim ("quick to snatch your ugly ass off the streets so f**k peace!") and the whole New York scene with the assistance of Hussein Fatal, E D I Mean and Kadafi. Choice lyrics: Now it's all about Versace you copied my style Five shots couldn't drop me, I took it and smiled Now I'm about to set the record straight with my A K I'm still the thug that you love to hate! At the end of the song, 2pac goes beserk, spitting insults and threats to kill at the NY Scene. i won't repeat any of the lyrics except this - "My .44 makes sure all your kids don't grow" - to show you what sort of a mood 2pac is in. You would expect Biggie to have done his nut in at the song but he actually thought it was a pretty good tune. That's a fact!
