3. X is Coming for you - DMX
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55NMRTLIHkE Coming from DMX's seminal album - It's Dark and Hell is Hot - this little number surprised even me with the depths of its nastiness. In the chorus he uses the chant from Nightmare on Elm Street and customises it with little kids chanting: One, two X is coming for you! Three, four Better lock your door! Five, six Get your crucifix! In the song, DMX is in a spectacularly vicious mood. He basically threatens to kill anyone who ticks him off in a nasty fashion - including you - the listener! When I speak you better listen The harder it gets, the more follows And I'm hittin 'em with s**t they can't all swallow I keep my slugs hollow, keep families in sorrow Keep motherf**kers like you not seeing tomorrow You can hear the absolute venom in DMX's voice as he raps. I don't know what sort of a day he was having when he was in the recording studio, but some of the rap is just exceedingly unwholesome and beyond the pail: And I'm gunning for your spouse Tryin to send the bitch back to her maker And if you've got a daughter over 15 I'm gonna rape her! I love DMX but this is basically an admission that he's a psycho killer rapist. If this song was a film, it would be Last House on the Left in terms of obnoxiousness. The music sounds like a chorus of violins (but it is probably just a synth that sounds like a chorus of violins). It makes the song all the more violent and unwholesome because it's so polished.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
