10 Most Over-Hated Rock Albums Of All Time
3. Be Here Now - Oasis
The general consensus on Oasis' Be Here Now has been one of the most interesting opinions to play out in the rock sphere. When it was first released, fans were singing the album's praises as the ideal follow-up to What's the Story Morning Glory, but have since retracted their statements. Thanks to its bloated runtime, everyone from music critics to Noel Gallagher himself have cited this record as the moment where everything went wrong for Oasis.
Given the intense backlash, this record should be a lethargic piece of rock flexing that should have never seen the light of day, right? Yes...and no. There is a fair argument most fans have regarding the length of each track. Even the better songs on the record could have benefited from a more punchy runtime, but the songs at the crux still have amazing melodies like on the rocker "My Big Mouth" or the tear-jerking "Don't Go Away."
Even if the band may not have been at their most focused, you can still hear that the foundation of the band is solid through the layers of guitars and overdubbing. Be Here Now doesn't pack nearly as much of a punch as the group's previous work, but it also doesn't deserved to be singled out as the first nail in their coffin either.
