10 Most Overrated Metal Bands Of All Time

Is there any way to really quantify what it means to be overrated? Since there are many bands that get attention they don't deserve, there's no real metric about how much they don't deserve it or anything. You have to do something a little bit bigger than just being frustrating for the metal genre, and Five Finger Death Punch has gotten their way there by being one of the biggest cases of wasted potential.

After all, the beginnings of this band were actually fairly solid for the most part, with Ivan Moody having an impressive shout when he wanted to. Ever since the 2010's started though, these guys have seemed more interested in getting their royalty checks cleared than actually making music, which is practically the textbook definition of selling out. Though most of their songs still sound like the same stuff they've made, it's somehow just turned to gray over the years, with Jason Hook never really gearing up for an amazing solo either.

The real clencher for everything though is the attitude. Aside from having the basic care for some people in the audience, any type of passion that these guys have for their craft was snuffed out a long time ago, instead being replaced with Monster Energy labels and some macho bravado. Metal is far from dead, but out of all the great music coming down the pipeline, we can certainly do a lot better than this.
