5. Rammstein - Deutschland

There are few musical groups who love to rile up the easily offended more than German rockers Rammstein, as they proved more decisively than ever last year with their epic nine-minute video for their song "Deutschland."

The song is a retrospective of German's historical past, placing the band in the epicenter of cultural milestones such as the Hindenburg Disaster and, most controversially, The Holocaust, with the band members dressed as Jewish prisoners due to be hanged.

In more fantastical terms, there's an insane sci-fi narrative cutting through the entire video, as well as a depiction of cannibalism, oh, and a queen making out with lead singer Till Lindemann's decapitated head. Yup.

The German government's commissioner for anti-Semitism called the video a "tasteless exploitation of artistic freedom," even though its creativity and production values were praised by critics and fans alike.

Though making complete sense of the video is a bit of a fool's errand, it certainly offers up a treasure trove of provocative imagery worth poring over at length.
