10 Most Trippy Albums Of All Time

8. Revolver - The Beatles

When the Beatles were first starting out, they were being seen as some of the most lovable lads from Liverpool who just happened to be in the biggest band in the world. Once the initial teeny-bopper tunes fell by the wayside, the Fab Four began to expand their musical vision, both sonically and chemically.

Though the band had tried marijuana when they met up with Bob Dylan in the mid 60's, it wasn't until Revolver that the band had delved fully into their acid-soaked middle period. Right from the initial backwards guitars on the single "Rain", you knew that this record was not your typical Beatles outing. From beautiful ballads to hard rock to even children's tunes, this album was packed to the brim with new directions for the group. Guitarist George Harrison also came into his own as a songwriter, where he started honing more Eastern influences on songs like "Love You To."

Every track seemed to work well, but the most adventurous track came in the form of "Tomorrow Never Knows," whose drum loops and psychedelic lyrics became emblematic of the Summer of Love. This was the start of a new age in rock music, but the Beatles had only just begun to impress us.
