10 Most Trippy Albums Of All Time

6. Rock And Roll - John Lennon

Once John Lennon had gotten to the mid 70's, it seemed that he could still not have peace. With album sales fluctuating and his problems with the FBI still going on, Lennon was sued for ripping off a Chuck Berry song on the Beatles hit "Come Together." To fulfill his legal obligation, Lennon decided to make a covers album and give the royalties to the publisher.

After venturing to Los Angeles to cut the tracks, Lennon went on what he considers to be his "lost weekend." Separated from his wife Yoko Ono, Lennon went on a truly epic road of debauchery, where he would drink incessantly before going into the studio to record. This led to the sessions slowly devolving into messes, which gave Lennon even more incentive to go back to the bar to cool out.

This behavior led to various physical altercations, with Lennon getting into fights at the Rainbow and becoming a member of the legendary drinking club the Hollywood Vampires. Even some of the session players don't care to revisit the finished album because of the bad memories it conjures up. Though Lennon eventually returned to domestic bliss back in New York City, Rock and Roll is the most unwieldy releases of the man's career.
