10 Most Trippy Albums Of All Time
3. Be Here Now - Oasis
The Gallagher brothers were never shy about their more nefarious affairs outside of music. From song titles like "Cigarettes and Alcohol" to their excessive lifestyle, the band lived up to their hype as true rock and roll stars. This all culminated in Noel Gallagher's infamous interview about drugs being as simple as having a cup of tea.
Though the band had made their feelings about drugs completely transparent, it wasn't until Be Here Now that it started to take its toll on the band's music. Hellbent on trying to followup What's the Story Morning Glory, Noel would spend hours slaving away in the studio all while snorting lines of cocaine around the clock. This led to him piling layers upon layers of guitar tracks onto each respective song, which caused these potential hits to become long-winded messes.
While most of the record is mired by a more extravagant touch, the one song that encapsulates the entire record has to be "All Around the World," whose 9 minute running length and near-nonsensical chorus shows Noel at the peak of his drug-fuelled haze. Though this album was far from the worst Oasis album, this showed that dark times might lay ahead for the Gallagher Brothers.
