10 Most Underrated Aerosmith Songs
1. Nobody's Fault - Rocks
Ever since they first started, Aerosmith always wanted to have a hard-edged rock and roll group. After years of slogging it out in pop bands imitating the British Invasion, Steven Tyler had the idea of a group that would take the music to different places that no one had ever thought were possible. Even though these guys stuck to what they know in the blues realm, no one expected them to go metal just as they were starting to get big.
All but affirming their new direction, Nobody's Fault off of Rocks showed these guys doubling down on their hard rock roots, with riffs that were bound to tear your head off. As the first few strains of guitar creep in, the whole song turns a corner once Joe Perry's guitar comes in, which seems to be raining down fiery doom with every lick. That's before you even get to Steven Tyler's vocal delivery, which has him pulling off some of his greatest screams and most agonizing singing ever recorded.
Inspired by the sensation of earthquakes, this track really delivered on its message, with a backbeat that could practically shake the floor from the moment you put it on. It's no surprise that this one track ended up influencing metal bands later down the line, with thrash legends Testament even recording their own version of it. So next time you look at Aerosmith as just your average party act, throw on this tune and prepare to have your mind blown.
