7. Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats
Sometimes to move forward you have to look back, which is exactly what this 4-piece from Cambridge, England have done. Their mash-up of Sabbath-era heavy metal injected with psychedelic flourishes work to cosmic effect on the doom laden album Bloodlust. Their latest release Mind Control manages to delve further into the vintage sound the band models themselves after with songs like the earth splitting "Mt Abraxas" and the devilishly catchy "Poison Apple" showcasing their love of dirty licks and mind altering lyrics. If that wasn't enough, the band were the chosen support for Black Sabbath's recent world tour which you would think would catapult the band to success. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yACaB6fzt_c Despite all of this the band havent reached anywhere near the same kind of exposure as some other bands of their ilk have. Stoner metal is nothing new but when it is this well done, more of the same will do just fine.
