Making a racket is part and parcel of punk music but this group from Denmark take it to another level. The sheer shambolic nature of their songs create something not achieved in the genre before but they are also a band that wear their influences of their sleeve. This post-punk interpretation was first let loose on the public with 2011s New Brigade and then on 2013s mind-blowing follow up Youre Nothing. Multiple listens are required because the intense nature of it can be too much to swallow on first inspection but once these scintillating fast paced riffs get under your skin, the band's true quality comes to the forefront. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtIbGik0Sys Songs like "Burning Hand" demonstrate that they have more pop sensibility than skeptics might think on the outset despite the ramshackle way in which it is all thrown together but this is actually part of their appeal. Unfortunately this is probably also the reason why the band aren't bigger than they clearly should be, but If you thought punk was dead then Iceage will leave you doubting that sentiment.
