10 Most Underrated Britpop Albums

6. Oasis – Be Here Now

While Oasis’ third LP Be Here Now was met with incredible commercial success – becoming the fastest selling album in Britain in the process – it was also lambasted from a critical standpoint.

Sadly, the critics unfairly compared it to the band’s stunning first two albums. While it certainly isn’t on par with Definitely Maybe or (What’s the Story) Morning Glory, Be Here Now is still littered with memorable tunes and stadium-sized anthems. It also features one of the absolute best songs of the Britpop era in the epic lead single “D’You Know What I Mean?”

Some might say (no pun intended) that Be Here Now is self-indulgent, drug-addled, and unnecessarily bombastic, and they are right. However, what they also fail to see is that it’s an infectious stick of rock from a band at the height of their career – warts and all.
