10 Most Underrated Classic Rock Albums
5. Draw the Line - Aerosmith
For one of classic rock's most famous bands, Aerosmith have had a bit of a spotty career trajectory. While they had been kings of hard rock in the 70's and 80's, most of their releases in the years going forward often left hard rock lovers cold. Though many cite Draw the Line as the moment where things start to come off the rails, it's actually one of their better records.
Granted, there were a lot of problems during the making of this record. Shacking up in a former asylum, the band spent most of their days getting too high for their own good and turning in shoddy performances. On the other hand, the magic is still there when they do show up to play, with the title track boasting their most aggressive form of swagger.
Elsewhere on the album, the band also flirts with different styles other than the blues, with "Kings and Queens" holding up as one of their most epic tracks. This may have been an album with a troubled past, but with age it has grown in stature to be one of their more solid releases. The band's classic period may have been coming to an end, but Draw the Line is proof that the good times weren't over just yet.
