10 Most Underrated Drummers Of All Time
4. Andy Hurley - Fall Out Boy
There's a lot of people probably shaking their heads at the travesty that's taking this spot. After all, Fall Out Boy's more deplorable hits on the radio these days and sell-out albums as of late may even put them in consideration as one of the most overrated bands of our time. For as much as Pete Wentz might relish in the spotlight, it's come at the expense of a monster behind the kit.
It's not like Andy Hurley doesn't really get to shine though, with the drum solo during Fall Out Boy's sets being one of the standout moments of every show. At the same time, Hurley's greatest strengths as a drummer have come whenever he's outside of the pop punk lens, like when he's serving as the muscle behind the supergroup the Damned Things. Instead of the traditional pop rock stuff he's used to, this is an all-out metal outfit where Hurley can really show his stuff, even giving some metal luminaries a run for their money in the process.
Also, it's not like every one of Fall Out Boy's drum breaks are bad, with songs like Sugar We're Going Down practically living and dying on the mammoth performance from Andy. For as much as stans may like to drone on about the wonders of Save Rock and Roll, there's a good chance they're missing the single greatest part of the group.
