10 Most Underrated Eminem Songs

1. White America - The Eminem Show

Many people figured that Eminem had let out all the aggression he needed to on the Marshall Mathers LP. Digging through his family life, the tabloid circus, and even the crazed fans who brought him to the top, that album felt like a mass exodus of anger leaving his subconsciousness to pave the way for a better future. The Eminem Show was promised to be something more ambitious, but from the very first track, that anger came back with a far more aggressive target.

Growing up as a poor kid on the streets of Detroit, Eminem tackles White America as an indictment of all the kids in the suburbs who look just like him. Instead of just yelling for the hell of it, these bars take a shot straight at the Bush administration, who seem absolutely appalled at how someone this shocking could actually become as big as he was.

Everyone loves a good underdog story, and this is the sound of Eminem claiming his spot among the most influential musicians in the world, determined to shape the next generation in his own image.

For a man who got most of his star power through the middle class section of America, this is the closest Em has to something like Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone, a man who finally reached the top and is rebelling against the very thing that got him there in the first place.
